Bible Missing from Nazarene Logo?

Have you noticed? Can you see the shift into apostasy of our beloved Church of the Nazarene? Have you noticed that the Almighty BIBLE is no longer the ultimate authority in our denomination?

Sadly, it is true. You can even see it in the changing way the logo is being used in the Church of the Nazarene. Here is what the logo has been for years, The Bible in the center, with a dove and flame facing it and honoring the Word of God. Also, the logo contained the words"Holiness onto the Lord". It is important to remember that without the Bible there can be no real holiness.

But lately the church of the Nazarene has been removing the Bible from its logo showing us the true nature of where our tradition is headed- strait into heresy and apostasy. Just look at the official website of the Church of the Nazarene and you will see the dove, the fire, but NO BIBLE in their logo. I think this is an intentional covert act to subliminally communicate that the BIBLE is no longer important; a sign that they are embracing the post-modern lie that the Bible is no longer relevant. Something dark and demonic is behind this as the Devil is reshaping what our denomination has always been about- BIBLICAL HOLINESS. How can the Devil do this and have a foot hold on the leaders of our denomination? Because they are no longer protected because they have left the safety of being under the authority of the Almighty BIBLE.

Don't you think for a minute that this is not a big deal! The salvation of the millions of people the Church of the Nazarene reaches is at stake as a false gospel is now being preached in many of our churches with the endorsement of Nazarene Headquarters and Nazarene Colleges. And don't think for a second that that it is just a coincidence that the Emergent Nazarene's use a similar logo, also without the Bible, but with an "emergent" leaf in the dove's mouth. It is not an accident that our leadership in the denomination and our educational institutions have made a deal with the devil as they partner with the NEW AGE High Priests of Brian McLaren, Tony Jones, Rob Bell, Shane Claiborne, Tony Campello and Rick Warren!!!

And the Church of the Nazarene has its own list of apostate, emergent, leaders- like James Diggs and his friends on the Emergent Nazarene site. These guys say things about how true religion is about helping the poor and never, ever, ever, tell people how they need to submit to the authority of the Bible and God's plan to get into heaven and not go to hell when they die. If they really cared about the poor they would abandon all that social gospel heresy and get out on the streets and lead these homeless individuals in the sinner’s prayer according to the BIBLE. Giving them food will only help people in the moment but giving them the spiritual food of God's Word, the BIBLE, that gives Life, will save them from hell forever. If the followers of the Emergent church read their Bible's they would know that.

So it is no wonder that these Emergent Nazarene's don't use the Bible in their version of Nazarene logo either; they do not submit to the authority of the BIBLE. And what is that leaf in they put in the dove's mouth? I believe the leaf is likely a reference to pot and drugs, as the relativistic mindset of their post-modern views make smoking weed acceptable. Don't believe me? These Emergent Nazarene's may not even know it themselves, but the Devil is working in those who have abandoned the sure footing of the almighty BIBLE, and because of this they will find themselves on the slippery slope that is likely to lead to such reprobate activity like drug use. I am sure that even if the Emergent Nazarene’s did not intend this leaf to be a reference to drugs, that the Devil working in them probably did. I may be wrong about this one, but it seems very suspicious to me. What else could a leaf in a doves mouth mean? Also, did you notice how their background is black, the color of darkness; I don't believe this is a coincidence either.

Anyway, it is hard to keep up with the many ways those who do not build their lives on the solid Rock of the Bible can stumble and be lead astray. That is why it is so shocking that the Church of the Nazarene would abandon the Bible as they have abandoned it in their logo. I still have not given up hope though for our denomination. There are still many Pastors and laypeople in our denomination who believe in the Bible. That is why I would like to encourage us Biblical Nazarenes to only use the logo with the Bible in it.

Thinking about this logo though, I may have an even better idea. As I have suggested in other posts, as well as my brethren Tim Wirth, and Manny Silva the church of the Nazarene needs reform. Maybe in this reformation the Church of the Nazarene should adopt a logo that honors God’s Word. Maybe we need a logo that tells us what is truly important- the BIBLE. Thinking about the old logo, even the one with the BIBLE in it, I can’t help to wonder why we have two symbols for the Holy Spirit. The logo has both a dove and fire, but we don’t need two symbols of the spirit because there is only ONE Spirit; just like there is only ONE God, ONE Jesus, and ONE inerrant, absolute Truth of the BIBLE. So I made a new logo that has just one symbol for the Holy Spirit as it comes from and works through the only source we have for reliable Truth in this world; the BIBLE. The BIBLE is central in this new logo as it is central for assuring a true faith that can keep us out of hell. I also added the word “biblical” in front of the phrase “Holiness unto the Lord”, because true holiness is Biblical Holiness.

  1. Charles,

Perhaps the shift in logo has nothing to do with a conspiracy. Personally I think it has more to do with the graphic designers over at Pub House finally realizing how ugly the original logo is.

Your idea that the leaf is some kind of drug reference is absurd. It doesn't even look like a marijuana leaf. It's actually the branding of the group Emergent Village (http://www.emergentvillage.com).

Also I would be interested to know where you have heard or read of emergent church leaders or teachers condoning drug use of any form? I have never heard anything like that.

  2. Somehow I like your logo better.

Great eye-opening posting! What in the world?? I thought I was keeping up with things pretty well, but that's why we need more people to join in this battle and help point out all these things. No one person can do it alone. Had no idea!! Each of these little changes are very serious.

I was not aware of the changing logo, but when such a logo is drastically redesigned, there obviously was some thought put into it and a rationale made for changing it after all these years! No Bible? No holiness phrase? Why? Perhaps an answer can be given by one of our General Superintendents or District Sups... there certainly was no announcement made with great fanfare to our local church bodies... or did I miss that service?

I'm sure there will soon appear here, an emergent explanation for all this that will set things straight.

Peace, keep up the good work here,

    Manny

    1. There is some deviation from the old logo but I mus say any Nazarene worth their salt will hold fast to the old one . In some world areas where the nazarene church can be fould everything nazarene carries the old logo we are known by that.especialy here in the caribbean

  3. Hmm.... No conspiracy theroy implied from me, just asking what is the rationale.
Okay then, if it really is an ugly logo, why not re-design it in a way to keep the Bible there? And Holiness Unto The Lord? Why take that out? Is that an undesireable phrase now?
The branding of Emergent Village? Yet another bit of influence from the emergent crowd. Oh wait, it's appropriate there... these are emerging Nazarenes.

  4. I have a degree in Graphic Design. I think it is an attempt to update the logo in the new minimalist design concepts that are everywhere....such as what you see at an IKEA store.

However, with that said.....I do think that there is something to be said about the missing Bible and the missing words "Holiness Unto the Lord". These elements SHOULD still be included and can be in an updated format. I agree; there is something to suspect in its removal. It does seem to reflect the deconstructionist elements of an emergent influence (whether intentional or not).

The leaf on the nazarene emergent logo is probably a reference to another emergent logo called: Emergent Village. The leaf has an opening so as to look like a lower case 'e'. So the concept that the logo represents is: green, environment, peace, emergent, creation, unity.

  5. Hi Anonymous, I always wanted to be a graphic designer... but I could not afford to pay for RISD in RI. But my preacher dad just did not make the bucks needed to help me.

Hey, perhaps you can suggest a new logo design that keeps the Bible and Holiness words, and submit it to the General Board! :-)

    Peace,

    Manny

  6. You sure are giving Emergent Nazarenes some good PR, with three links to their blog. All press is good press, right?

Incidentally, there has been no official change to our denominational seal, so I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Furthermore, why would one remain in such an apostate denomination? You're free to leave.

  7. Are you being serious, or is this a reincarnated Nazarene Nooz site? I'm having a hard time figuring that out.

Your arguments are specious at best, but hey, it's your blog.

  8. Maybe the guy's family finally won the court case since the old logo was stollen from him without payment.
I have always hoped we would pay him/family for the logo. But since we are revamping our image to a more slick look every were it stand to reason they want to change it.

  9. First of all, our LOGO is NOT changing, the logo with the dove and fire is the logo for www.nazarene.org (the website) so tell me, if my church is: Living Water Church of the Nazarene, does that mean that we are forgeting about God and focusing on WATER?! really?! I am not sure how involved YOU are in the Church of the Nazarene, but I went to the General Assembly, and boy let me tell you, every single General Superintendent had a sermon PACKED with God's word.

  10. Hey bro, to me a logo has nothing to do with what the Church of the Nazarene is doing. Like anonymous said, every sermon during General Assembly really was filled with the scriptures.

I am a graphic designer, as a matter of fact, I designed the logo: Jesus for a New Generation which can be downloaded from the nazarene.org website.

I have the link to the logo with the dove and fire you are talking about, and it clearly says: "nazarene.org logo" so our logo is not changing.

  13. I'm trying to figure out... is this website a joke or is it real?

I'm leaning toward it being funny satire (hoping) but part of me thinks it might be real.... scary.

  14. Some Naz churches have 'Lord', some have 'LORD' in the logo. Although Joseph Widney never, I think, picked up on the tetragrammaton, and the phrase isn't a biblical quote, I'd suggest that any official redesign keeps to the traditional EV way of God's name, lest it elide further into Oneness teaching.
When even songs are transmuted from LORD to Lord (lest we SHOUT?), the pick up can be that there's about Jesus only, who is Lord, rather than Yahweh, who is the eternal society. There lies the road of Modalism.

  15. It is EXACTLY like the Emergentvillage logo, the leaf. This is a problem. A logo is an identifier to the product/company/church's mission. If the Nazarenes have removed the Bible, the very Word of God from their logo, I have a HUGE issue with it. I think there should be an explanation as to why anyone would want to remove the Bible from their logo. It doesn't make sense. We need to return to the Word of God, not get rid of it. Very disturbing.

  16. Just read "Lets kill the Covenant of Christian Conduct" on the emergent nazarene site. They talk about how it's wrong the follow the Word of God. I am glad that we are no longer attending our Nazarene Church.
